BANNER BAGS
“Just sourcing the information would have taken ages, and filling in all the paperwork correctly would have been a minefield without the help of experts who really knew what they were doing.”
Managing Director Paul Gilbraith.
Blackburn-based Banner Bags recycle heavy duty PVC banners, transforming them into a range of iconic fashionable bags.
With the popularity of their products increasing, Banner Bags turned to Environment Connect for help in taking the business forward. And through just one call he was put in touch with three specialist advisors.
First, a resource efficiency review was undertaken through the ENWORKS programme. They also helped to cut through the red tape needed for Banner Bags to gain a licence to collect waste, the raw material needed for their enterprise.
Next, recycling specialists WRAP became involved to look at new product markets, and finally Envirolink Northwest offered technology support and advice.
The growing business has now approached the top five supermarkets to help divert PVC waste from landfill into more commercial products for the high street.
